Government may reduce PG courses to one year


A proposal to restructure the existing post-graduate programme is on its way. According to the government plans the duration of post-graduate (PG) degree courses will be reduced from two years to one year. All streams, barring medicine, will have a shortened PG degree programme . At present, a PG degree in medicine takes three years to complete. While the duration may condensed, but the government may toughen the admission criteria to allow the brightest graduates for the PG programmes.
